Mrs. Pauline Tallen, the former Minister of Women Affairs under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has stated that she voluntarily visited the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Friday, the anti-corruption agency questioned Tallen about the alleged misappropriation of N2 billion from the African First Lady Peace Mission Project (AFLPM).

In a statement released on Saturday, Tallen stated that she was at the EFCC office of her “own accord” to “address the very false allegations” made against her.

She did not, however, elaborate on the allegation.

She stated, “Out of respect for my former boss, Former President Muhammadu Buhari, and his good office, I have not previously addressed the public allegation; however, it is now necessary for me to do so.

“Should this have been a sincere inquiry, the first step would have been to write to the Ministry of Women’s Affairs to inquire about any funds sent to the Ministry.

“To immediately go public without proper formal correspondence is extremely unprofessional, demonstrates a lack of respect for the Ministry of Women Affairs, and is detrimental to my person and reputation.

“Additionally, I would like to state that neither a formal invitation from the anti-corruption agency nor my arrest occurred.”
