Godswill Akpabio, a former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, asserts that he will be an “uncommon transformer” if elected senate president.

Monday, following a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock villa in Abuja, Akpabio made a statement.

When he was governor of Akwa Ibom, the former minority leader of the Senate stated, “he made significant contributions to infrastructure.”

“It is common knowledge that Akpabio is a results-oriented person. “As governor, I made significant contributions to infrastructure, education, social issues, and human empowerment,” said Akpabio.

“I intend to implement a number of reforms in the senate’s business practises to help the incoming administration succeed.

“We will be extremely thorough in everything we do; we will promote constitutional loyalty.”

Akpabio stated that he would resolve the issues via legislation.

“We’ll do our best to make good laws and assist the administration in enacting policies that will empower the nation’s youths,” he said, referring to the widespread unrest.

“On the day of the convention, I made the promise that, as a man who used to transform boys into men and who continues to do so, I would like to work with the prospective president, who has also set that example in Lagos state as governor and subsequently as leader of the APC in Nigeria.

“Therefore, the youths are in for a very good time in terms of empowerment; there will be no time for laziness, and we will prevent many of them from falling prey to criminality, brigandage, and the like.”
