Delta state All Progressives Congress (APC) removed governorship candidate and Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege for misconduct and anti-party activities.
Ulebor Isaac (Chairman) and 24 party members signed the resolution to expel Senator Omo-Agege.
“The State Executive Committee (SEC) of all Progressive Congress Delta State in a meeting held on the 31st March, 2023 at the State Secretariat, Asaba, after due deliberation of the Notice of Resolution of Expulsion of Senator Ovie Omo Agege as a member of the Party by the executive committee of the Orogun ward and Ughelli North Local Government Chapter dated 20th March, 2023 and accordance to the provision of Article 21.2 (D)(II)(VII) 21.3 and 21.5(a)
“Consequently Senator Ovie Omo Agege hereby stands expelled as a member of the party with immediate effect for various offences committed and acts of anti-party activities and gross misconduct that has shamed and ridiculed the party in the state which affected the party in the just concluded elections.”
On Monday, the APC Delta Central released a statement confirming Omo-dismissal Agege’s from his ward.
“We Are In Receiving Of Omo-Agege expulsion from his Ward,” reads Sir Oruafe Michael’s communication. “He didn’t challenge it seven days after.”
“The Local Government must agree and submit the expulsion to the state. We urge the National party leadership to expel Omo-Agege immediately. This shouldn’t impact party members. Since the call benefits the state party, they should carry on.
The statement accused Omo-Agege of hijacking the party from the ward to the state and personally appointing the Publicity Secretary without state consultation.
The statement further noted that Omo-Agege romanced the Labour Party during the presidential race in exchange for their governorship vote.
“This disgusting move damaged state party chances,” it stated.
The statement further stated that Omo-Agege intentionally favoured his senatorial district for federal government initiatives.
