Nigeria’s incoming president, Bola Tinubu, has stated that his victory in Saturday’s presidential elections belongs to all Nigerians.

This was said by Tinubu on Wednesday in Abuja, during the presentation of Certificates of Return to him and the Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.

The former governor of Lagos extended an olive branch to those who lost the election and invited them to work with him to improve Nigeria.

“I am aware that some of you did not vote for me, and I am aware of how hurt you must be, especially since your preferred presidential candidate is not the one standing here receiving this certificate. “But, I’d like you to know that my door is always open,” he continued.

“My triumph belongs to every Nigerian, regardless of ethnic or political background. I want to guarantee everyone, especially the young people, that we will build the nation of our dreams together.”

INEC pronounced Tinubu the victor of the presidential election held on February 25 this morning.
